Just wanted to send out a note to say thank you for the outpouring of support and words of encouragement on consideration of this vacated seat on City Council. Your calls and emails were tremendous and to be considered as someone you would put that trust in for the Ward is something I do not take lightly. I think one of the best parts of civic politics is the opportunity to bring the best out in people and allows for some real positive change to happen in our community.
At this time a run in this ward though is not in the cards for me for a couple of reasons. First and foremost I have spent a couple of years “on the hustings” for various causes and out of passion to serve this community. It is time to spend some quality time with my two daughters and my very supportive wife. My oldest daughter is really starting to enjoy her involvement in dance and my youngest daughter is walking, running and is a going concern so they keep my wife and I very busy!
Second I would like to see the work I have embarked on with Renaissance Brandon through to the end of my term. I think we are doing tremendous things in the downtown and laying a foundation of change that will be seen long after my term in office expires. The framework we have in place now will allow for a vibrant and alive downtown in the future and I for one am looking forward to that day.
Thanks once again for the emails of encouragement on considering this run and I look forward to the opportunity to serve this community in that capacity in the future.
All my best,
